It is with epic and unrivalled sadness that we announce that GBE ceased trading as of Friday 18th November. Andy and I have tried tirelessly to build the business but excessive overheads coupled with a landlord unwilling to help and the terrible state of the economy have resulted in us accumulating huge debts and being unable to pay ourselves a decent living for 3½ years. We cannot continue this any longer. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve our national dish to our city and for our offering to be so well received. The good will and best wishes that we have already received from many of you has overwhelmed us. You never know what the future holds; one day we may fry once more so watch this space.
